Dr. Rambabu Muppidi, Faculty, LLPD at FDDI Hyderabad, has published a research paper in the USA-based journal Current Trends in Fashion Technology & Textile Engineering (CTFTTE), November 2025 issue. Titled “Preservation and Promotion of Kora Grass Craft in the Digital Era: A Pathway to Women Empowering Local Artisans and Cultural Sustainability – Nava Women Empowerment Centre, Telangana, India”, co-authored with Dr. Yogesh Babu Thunga, the study focuses on traditional Kora Grass Craft, including eco-friendly bags and gift articles.
Conducted under the Combined Term Project – Design for Society (CTP-5), it involved field visits, user interactions, and skill centre documentation to explore women empowerment initiatives.
The research highlights how digital design tools, CAD applications, and innovative design processes can revive India’s natural craft traditions, support cultural sustainability, and provide sustainable livelihoods for women artisans.
